Re: Tariff Updates Support Effort to Move More Transactions Online
In 2007, The Kansas City Southern Railway Company’s (KCSR) e-commerce team introduced a variety of enhancements that are making it easier to do business at My KCS on www.kcsouthern.com. In addition to a number of transactional features, these Track & Trace enhancements include:
§ Offline events showing car movements reported by other carriers in the route;
§ Historical events 365 days prior to current date;
§ The ability to print or email waybill information and events all at once from the same web page without doing multiple searches;
§ The ability to print or email events for multiple cars/units from a single search;
§ An area to specify or limit which events the user wants to view;
§ An Export to Microsoft Excel option to save, filter, or better track events; and
§ A user-friendly Events Description guide.
In 2008, we’ll add to that list of features. Customers will gain the ability to print a bill of lading preview, including car numbers, weights, seals, etc., before submitting the information, and customers will notice a News & Updates section in My KCS on the right side of the screen after log-on.
Transactions performed online are processed more quickly, because the need for re-entry from a fax or phone call is eliminated, and accuracy is increased since the opportunity for error created by re-entry is eliminated. Instead of investing your valuable time on the phone or fax, your transaction is efficiently processed online, and our train crews have the latest information to move your freight, consistently and reliably.
In support of the effort to move more transactions online, on December 19, 2007, KCSR updated tariffs 9012, 9011 and 9213 in the Customer section of www.kcsouthern.com. Rules Publication KCS 9012 and 9011 Effective December 19, 2007 can be found on the Pricing and Rules Publications and Fuel Surcharge pages, and Diversions KCS 9213-H Effective February 1, 2008 can be found under Accessorial Charges. An explanation of specific changes to these tariffs appears below.

· Item 80 - Paragraph D is clarified for Loss or Damage Verification and Disposition Provisions.
· Item 130 – A finance charge will be applied for late payments.

· Items 200 General Application and 300 Glossary of Terms are clarified.
· A fee is added to Item 400 Notifying KCS of Diversion/Reconsignment. Performing this transaction via the Internet is free.
