The 11th Annual Entrepreneurial Awards of Greater Lansing were presented on the evening of March 24 at the Radisson Hotel. Ten local entrepreneurs took home top
honors in several categories presented on behalf of The Greater Lansing Business Monthly and the corporate underwriters that support the program.
The event has become one of Lansing's grandest business events—growing each year in nominations, attendance and in sponsorship support. This year was no exception as the event welcomed three new sponsors in addition to the eight that have supported the awards for several years.
“The Greater Lansing Business Monthly may do the legwork in regards to all of the details of the event, but the event would not take place at all without the support of our corporate sponsors,” noted Stacy Adado, event organizer and vice president of the magazine. “Some of these sponsors such as Andrews Hooper & Pavlik, G.E.E! Communications, Maner Costerisan & Ellis and Radisson Hotel have been on board all 11 years. We were also fortunate to welcome Capitol National Bank, TDS Metrocom, WILX TV-10 and WILS to the 2005 awards as corporate sponsors as these are all companies that recognize the importance in giving back to the community—and there really is no better way than recognizing our own.” The sponsorship list is rounded out by such companies as Michigan Equities Realty, Plante & Moran and Symbiosis International who have joined in with their support within the last few years.
“It has been our pleasure to support the recognition of successful local entrepreneurs,” stated Mark Hooper of Andrews Hooper & Pavlik. “I have also been fortunate to serve on the judges panel for the past 11 years, and it is still exciting to see the looks on the faces of the recipients each year.”
Sarina Gleason of TDS Metrocom decided this was a great opportunity for her company to get involved in a local recognition program. “The Business Monthly has always gone above and beyond in doing what they can to recognize successful businesses—and this program is no exception. We are thrilled to be able to be a part in their efforts to appreciate what these entrepreneurs have endured to succeed,” noted Gleason.
“All of these sponsors, whether they have been on board since the inception or are new within the last few years have allowed this program to grow, and for that we are grateful. It makes all of our efforts in organizing the event even more beneficial when you know you are being supported by local businesses,” stated Adado. “I look forward to working with them all for many more years.”
