BNSF Update: Birmingham Subdivision Maintenance of Way Project

Beginning today, Thursday, January 12, 2006 , and continuing through Thursday, March 30, 2006, BNSF maintenance of way crews will be undercutting on the Birmingham Subdivision between Mineral Wells, Mississippi and New Albany, Mississippi. This line runs between Memphis, Tennessee and Birmingham, Alabama.

Undercutting will be conducted between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Agricultural Products and Carload traffic may experience delays of 8 to 12 hours during this period.

PLEASE NOTE: Intermodal and Automotive traffic may see 24 to 72 hours delay. Eastbound traffic for CSXT destinations in Florida will be held at the Birmingham, Alabama terminal until 6000 plus feet is accumulated, at which time the traffic will interchange with the CSXT.
